February Submission Deadlines: Community Geothermal Grants Consumer Protections and EV Charging Bids

The Illinois Finance Authority is accepting applications for the Community Geothermal grant program until February 13, 2026, and accepting Invitation for Bid submissions for the installation of EV chargers under the Community Charging and Fueling Infrastructure grant program until February 27, 2026. Community Geothermal: Consumer Protections Package

The Illinois Finance Authority is currently accepting applications for Phase One: Planning Grants until February 13, 2026. This is the first part of the two-phased Community Geothermal Pilots + Planning grant program, designed to support the planning, development, and deployment of community-scale geothermal projects.

The Illinois Finance Authority recently added important information regarding consumer protections relevant to the Community Geothermal program. Those planning to apply to the planning grants should review the Consumer Protections Package posted on the Illinois Climate Bank website. Applicants do not need to submit any additional documents other than what is currently described in the Notice of Funding Opportunity.

  • Application Due Date: February 13, 2026
  • Available Funding: $1 million
  • Award Range: $100,000 to $250,000 per award

Invitation for Bid: Community EV Charging Program

The Illinois Finance Authority recently published an Invitation for Bid soliciting a vendor to install Level 2 and Level 3 EV charging stations across northern Illinois under the Community Charging and Fueling Infrastructure grant program. Submissions are due February 27, 2026, at 4 p.m. CST. The solicitation can be found in the State of Illinois BidBuy system.
